West Kent ARS.
The West Kent ARS has been established for 70 years, holding its inaugural meeting on the 7th April 1948, and still holds monthly meetings involving some aspect of amateur radio, general electronics or computing.

In addition to the more structured monthly meetings, members now also meet on the 1st and 3rd Friday evenings for practical sessions, where the focus is on doing something, whether that be building something, learning Morse or programming etc.

Further to the scheduled meetings, the club also has members who participate in a number of HF, VHF/UHF contests through the year, and as a club, West Kent ARS actively takes part in the major RSGB field day and other contests.

Club nets.
The West Kent ARS have established weekly HF and VHF nets, which while these are for club members, current non-members are also most welcome to call in and get to know us.

The nets are held on;

                                Monday  8pm, 145,375MHz

Training for the amateur radio licence.
The West Kent ARS is now engaged in training new radio amateurs to gain their licence, while helping others to progress through to full licence level, and has a proven record of success in getting candidates through the exams. Further details about our training plans can be found here, or by emailing the club at; training@wkars.org.uk

Club emails.
The club distributes periodic email reminders about meetings to members and many other amateurs in and around the West Kent area. In addition some emails are sent with relevant information to those registered for email communications to keep them informed of local amateur radio matters.
You may enlist yourself to receive these club emails via http://www.freelists.org/list/wkars-announce and then to add your email
address into the 'subscribe' box. Emails sent through the announce list are sent without any personal email addresses being divulged, and you may unsubscribe yourself at anytime through visiting the 'freelists' website once again, but choosing the un-subscribe option.
